On my way in to the strip, I stopped at North Las Vegas Airport to check out a Sikorsky S-38
seaplane. It was orginally designed for Pan Am Airways for their Key West to Havana route.
None of the original 111 airframes still exist, but 2 were built in the late 90's from the
original drawings. This is 2nd of the 2 built and was featured on the cover of AOPA's magazine
last September. It's temporarily painted grey to resemble Howard Hughes S-41 seaplane while it's
being used in a film about him.
