A few pics from the lake

On my way in to the strip, I stopped at North Las Vegas Airport to check out a Sikorsky S-38 seaplane. It was orginally designed for Pan Am Airways for their Key West to Havana route. None of the original 111 airframes still exist, but 2 were built in the late 90's from the original drawings. This is 2nd of the 2 built and was featured on the cover of AOPA's magazine last September. It's temporarily painted grey to resemble Howard Hughes S-41 seaplane while it's being used in a film about him.

Play time at Mville... I highly recommend the 5 O'clock Somewhere Hurricane. And since this is Vegas, not only does the volcano that erupt into the giant blender, but there's also a real live mermaid that slides down the volcano into the blender too...
